30 life lessons for 30 years.
In just a few days I am turning the big Three- Oh and have found myself in a time of deep reflection and growth. As I look back on the past three decades, I am filled with a sense of pride for the person I have become. Each year brings new wisdom, and with it, a deeper connection to myself and the world around me. SO, here are 30 life lessons that have shaped my journey, and I hope they resonate with you as you navigate your own path.

You can alter the course of your life at any moment with a single decision.
You have the freedom to change your mind and evolve.
Embrace curiosity, playfulness, and silliness. Reconnect with your inner child by infusing joy and play into your life.
The more time I spend in solitude, the more I discover inner peace.
You truly accept the love you believe you deserve.
Aligning with my menstrual cycle has profoundly transformed my life.
Family time is priceless.
People will remember you for the energy you bring.
Regularly engage in activities you’re not good at. It’s humbling, a great ego check, and fantastic for your brain.
Magnesium before bed is elite

Get your clothes cleaned at the dry cleaners before returning home from an overseas holiday. No one wants to come home to a pile of laundry.
Luxury means different things to different people.
Take action. Procrastination stifles creativity and heightens anxiety.
You can start running at age 29.
Avoid being a people pleaser. (A nod to my fellow Libra sisters). While being agreeable and meeting others’ expectations can maintain peace, it can also lead you away from your true self.
This is your parents’ first time on this Earth too. It’s everyone’s first time here. No one has it all figured out, so show compassion.
Set boundaries.
Express your true feelings.
The ocean is my remedy for everything. Immerse yourself in nature, feel the sun on your skin, and let the water cleanse your soul.
Denying yourself worldly pleasures doesn’t make you superior. Follow the middle path. If you enjoy chocolate, eat chocolate; if you love coffee, drink coffee; if you love staying up late reading, do it. We have one life, one chance to live in joy and abundance. So be true to yourself.
21 - 30
Failure is better than not starting at all.
Identify your daily/weekly non-negotiables. When your cup is full, you are a better person in all aspects of your life.
Journal. Get those thoughts out of your head.
Move: Get out of your head and into your body.
Breathe: It wasn’t until my yoga teacher training at 22 that I learned how to breathe functionally.
Get a dog. They add sweetness to your life.
Don’t rely on your romantic partner to make you whole. Know that you are whole as you are, and you are meeting another whole person.
The answers you seek are within. Slow down, block out the noise, and listen deeply and authentically to your inner voice.
Commitment is more powerful than intensity. In all things—relationships, workouts, self-development.
Look people in the eye when you speak to them.
As I stand on the threshold of my 30s, I am filled with anticipation for the lessons yet to come. I’ve had a colourful, rich life filled with joy, heartbreak and everything in between. So if you are reading this thank you for being there alongside me on this journey of growth and discovery.
